When a lion cub is born into the world, it almost immediately starts to crawl around in search of milk from its mother. When a cub is born into the world, it is blind. The cub manages to find its mothers milk by using its amazing powers of smell. Once it finds its mothers nipple, it latches on and starts to suckle. This terribly hurts the mother, but she has to put up with it.
